Munnar

The beauty of Munnar bowled me over and even after leaving the place I cant froget the wonderful nature that I encountered up in those hills. Nature had always been an inspiration for me and I found that the trip to Munnar essentially charged me up and even prompted me to blog - a task that I had been putting off for a long time now...

Though tired by the nagging travel sickness which resurfaced with vehemence since leaving me at the latter part of my childhood, I was instantly impressed by the beauty that welcomed me even before we reached Munnar. Once we neared the place, it was magnificient!

All around me, I could see cloud clad mountains and beautiful green nature. To add the beauty, the nature decorated the hills with flowers of various colours and hues- many of them not visible any more in my village... The air was cleaner, purer and refreshing. When the clouds came kissing the hills, the spectacle left me with joy inexplicable. Not in the near past had I felt so thrilled and joyous as this... It felt as if a part of me that was hitherto hidden somewhere in the deep realms of my mind was released! In its wake, it brought such a joy that could not be attributed to anything specific!!!

A strange change was taking place, unknown to me. I was content and felt blessed to glimpse this wonderful world that the nature was unfolding...

Later in the evening, the visit to Mattupatti dam area held even more stunning glimpses of nature.. What words can explain the natural beauty of a river gently flowing between cloud clad  mountains!!! As the clouds lowered further, it brought to me a soothing chill and freshness and my mind overflowed with joy. Even the droplets of rain was relished as a boon. But then it rained heavily and one had to take leave - hesitantly.

And as we drove back to the hotel in the heavy downpour, the mind was at ease... the travel sickness seemed to be a small price to pay for such a wonderful time with nature... I had already started looking forward to the next morning and the delights it promised. With that comforting thought, I went to sleep.
